Services for Law Firms
We work extensively with law firms throughout the country. We specialize in tissue removal for mesothelioma, asbestos, and benzene cases and also perform complete autopsies and neuropathology examination for law firms. Our staff is familiar with all aspects of civil and criminal law, litigation, testimony, and deposition as it applies to the field of pathology. We serve law firms throughout the country, and support the families they represent.
Partial or Complete Autopsies
We offer partial or complete autopsies to families, and the law firms that represent them. An autopsy can be a crucial tool in many forms of litigation including wrongful death, medical malpractice, toxic torts, and personal injury cases. Our staff works with the family to schedule the autopsy so as not to interfere with funeral arrangements, and we have a detailed final autopsy report available within 45 days complete with microscopic examination and explanation in lay terms. Our staff includes board certified Forensic Pathologists who are experienced with civil and criminal law.
Partial Autopsy Options:
Cardiovascular Autopsy
If the main concern surrounds the heart and lungs, then this may be an appropriate option.
Single Organ Autopsy
When the main concern is only one organ, we are able to focus the examination to that organ.
Tumor Tissue Examination
For cases where it is desired that we remove tumor in order to diagnose and document what the disease was, this is often a desired service. This allows us to detect and document the disease's spread.
Brain-Only Autopsies
We offer brain-only autopsies--his is a appropriate option in cases of traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and certain neurologically related wrongful death or personal injury tort cases. We also offer Alzheimers, Parkinson's, and other dementia/brain disease examination services. A complete report is available in 45 days. $2700 (plus travel/transport if applicable).
Post Mortem Tissue Procurement
One of our most frequently requested services by law firms is to remove tissue for Toxic Tort litigation whether it is for Asbestos, Benzene, toxic mold, Silicosis, or other exposure, and perform limited/partial autopsies or organ procurement. We are able to remove the tumor or diseased organs and associated tissue; we then can perform the review and sign out in-house or send the tissue to your firm's expert for examination. As you probably know, there is high value in having the relevant tissue on patient's with these conditions removed and examined by a pathologist. An autopsy or pathological examination of tissue is a high value medicolegal tool and is increasingly being utilized by law firms for litigation of this type.
